BJP and YSRCP ridicule Naidu

telugu post telugu news

The Opposition YSR Congress had ridiculed the Telugu Desam Party chief Chandrababu Naidu’s allegations against the Election Commission and the Electronic Voting Machines. The leaders said that the TDP chief had realised his defeat in the elections and was looking for options to blame. “Naidu is known for the blame games. He shifts the blame on others and escapes his failures or defeat,” the YSR Congress senior leaders said.

They recalled that Chandrababu Naidu was happy with the EVMs in 2014 as they gave him victory. However, now as he is sure of his defeat in the 2019 elections, `Naidu is trying to shift the blame on the EVMs and the Election Commission. The conspiracy theory is now linked to the Election Commission too, the YSR Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member Vijayasai Reddy told media persons in Delhi.

The Bharatiya Janata Party also discounted Chandrababu Naidu’s allegations of conspiracy and collusion. BJP MP G V L Narasimha Rao told media in Vijayawada that the TDP chief was trying to justify his defeat attributing it to the EVMs and the Election Commission. “It is clear that people have voted against the TDP. The anti-government vote was clearly visible on April 11. The TDP chief is not ready to admit his failure or defeat. He found the EC and the EVMs as reason to escape from admitting his defeat,” Narasimha Rao said.

The BJP also ridiculed the conspiracy theory attributed to the elections. He said that Chandrababu Naidu was sure of his defeat way back in 2018, when he pulled out of the NDA. “Naidu is in the trap of the YSR Congress. He agreed for the special package to the State in the place of special category status. He had even passed a resolution in the Assembly thanking the Central government and the Prime Minister. He had honoured the finance minister for granting special package. But, he was confused and fell in the trap of the YSR Congress, which was fighting for the special category status. He wrongly estimated that people would defeat him for giving up the special category status,” the BJP MP said.

However, the Congress, the Jana Sena and the CPI have expressed doubts over the EVMs in the elections and sought a clarification from the EC on the issue. This is the only hope for Chandrababu Naidu to justify his charge against the EC and the EVMs. It is to be seen how this war would end as the counting is completed on May 23.
