BJP to go alone in AP local body polls

The Bharatiya Janata Party in Andhra Pradesh is dreaming big about its future in the State. The party leaders have been claiming that the party would come to power in the State soon. The party is currently busy engineering defections from the Telugu Desam Party, by taking one leader after the other. The party says that more leaders from the TDP, Jana Sena and the YSR Congress would join the BJP from the last week of August, as the party now wants to wait for the death ceremony of the party senior leader Sushma Swaraj to conclude.

Party AP unit president Kanna Lakshminarayana, is going strong against the YSR Congress these days. He is completely silent on the TDP and targeting the ruling YSR Congress more, giving indication that the BJP is the true opposition party in the State. Kanna Lakshminarayana, who was in Eluru on Monday, told media that the BJP would keep an eye on the Jaganmohan Reddy government in the State as the main opposition party in the State.

“We are not bothered about our presence or absence in the State Assembly. We are the real opposition to the YSR Congress. We don’t even recognise the existence of the TDP in the State politics. There would be more surprises in the state politics in the days to come,” he told the media during a brief interaction.

The BJP leader said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had become a real hero for the people of the country with the strong decision on Jammu and Kashmir. The withdrawal of Article 370 is a daring move which Modi had taken and that had integrated the border state with rest of the country. He asserted that Modi’s graph is growing up across the State and it is visible in Andhra Pradesh too. He claimed that the BJP would form the next government in the State and this victory begins from the party’s victory in the ensuing local body elections.
