Nobody knows which party Ganta Srinivasa Rao will join and from which constituency he contests the elections. Till the last minute nobody will have any idea as to from which constituency he will enter the fray. Ganta Srinivasa Rao has changed his constituencies four times. Though he had good grip on Bhimili, he left the constituency to contest from Visakhapatnam North constituency in the recent elections and won with a narrow margin.
However, with his party not in power, he is rarely visiting Visakhapatnam North constituency. Ask anybody and he will tell you that election management by his friends and followers ensured his victory despite YSRCP wave. Ganta Srinivasa Rao’s opinion is that the election management works one time and it is not right to believe that it will work out the second time as well.
That’s why he changes his constituency in every election. In his 20-year-long political career, he contested from four places and was elected on all the occasions. What is special about Ganta Srinivas Rao is the fact that after getting elected from one constituency, he never contests again from that constituency. He began his political journey in 1999. That year he was elected as MP from Anakapalle.
In 2004 elections he contested from Chodavaram constituency and won. In 2009 he contested on the ticket of Praja Rajyam Party and was elected. After PRP merged with the Congress, he became a minister. Subsequently he returned to TDP and contested from Bhimili and following the victory he became minister in the TDP government. In the previous election, he choose Visakhapatnam North constituency. Since he secured a narrow margin, it looks certain that in the next elections he will change the constituency. He looks somewhat active in view of the local body elections but it is certain that by the next elections, he will choose another constituency. Changing the party and the constituency in every election has become Ganta Srinivasa Rao’s sentiment.
