Chief Minister Y S Jagan mohan Reddy government is planning to float two Missions in the State. The Mission Build Andhra Pradesh and Connect AP are the two Missions that the government is planning to start for two different purposes. The two missions are to be headed by the chief minister, who is keen on the two schemes proposed for these two missions.
The Connect AP is to utilise the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds of various corporate companies and industries. The chief minister wants to mobilise the CSR funds from the corporate companies, and channel them for the welfare and development schemes of the government. The chief minister wants to use these funds for creation of basic infrastructure in the villages like connecting roads, protected drinking water and the primary health care.
The Mission Build Andhra Pradesh too got the cabinet clearance and it would be headed by the chief minister as chairman. The mission would work with the National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC) of the Central government. The Mission is to take care of the maintenance of the government buildings across the State. The government buildings are the most neglected ones and damages start in no time as there is no care.
The government schools, offices, hospitals across the State will be taken over by the mission for maintenance on the lines of the NBCC. Besides, the mission would also identify the government vacant and unused lands across the state and propose townships or sell them to fund the government activities. It would also clear all encroachments on the government lands in the State and use them for the public purpose.
Besides, the cabinet also cleared the proposal to start cleaning of the canal systems under Krishna and Godavari deltas. The chief minister had constituted a committee headed by him to monitor the cleaning of the canals. Pollution in these canals be treated in the first phase followed by prevention of such pollution. All encroachments on the canal banks would also be cleared in a phased manner and all the canal and river banks would be taken up for beautification.
