Jagan steals the thunder

Appealing to the people to vote for a change and give a decisive mandate to roll in a corruption–free welfare state, YSR Congress president Jaganmohan Reddy poked fun at the slogan coined by Chandrababu Naidu that he will give security and will take the responsibility of their future.

Addressing a string of public meetings packed with milling crowds here on Sunday, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said, Chandababu Niadu’s slogan ‘Mee Bhavishyathu Na Bhadyatha’ (your future is my responsibility), shows the deceptive character of the TDP President and his bundle of lies.

We have seen the responsibility he has taken when he shielded the guilty in the Call Money Sex Racket, we have seen the dubious distinction of his promise and irresponsibility when a lady Tehasildar was assaulted by his party MLA, we have seen the responsibility when he has neglected the interest of farmers at the cost of amassing profits to his family run Heritage Foods.

What type of security can this man, who has usurped Party and power from the TDP Founder president NTR, gave to people when he and his coterie are neck deep involved in rampant corruption and nepotism? What type of security can this man give who encourages murder politics and shift the blame of the victim’s family members and he has no humanity, he said amidst thunderous applause and people incessantly chanting CM, CM, CM with the mood swinging a major change at the helm of affairs in the State.

TDP has failed on all fronts and could not get the Special Category Status (SCS) and settled for the Special Package which has no speciality at all. He has promised jobs and unemployment stipend but he could not create jobs but industries and jute mills in the cooperative sector were closed down throwing people out of jobs and stipend was the 2014 election promise and he owes more than Rs 1.2 lakhs to each family.

Development at all the places has been stalled due to the corrupt practices of Chandrababu Naidu by allotting land to his coterie or by cancelling tenders to major projects like international airport at Bhogapuram as there were no kickbacks. ‘I appeal to you to give a decisive mandate which will end the corrupt practices of TDP and in our governance administration will be brought to your door steps through Village Secretariats. There will be no dearth for education and medicare facilities as the Navaratnas include all of them and the Aarogya Sri health scheme which was watered down and the fees reimbursement scheme which was deflated will get back its old glory and the weaker sections will reap all the benefits of the welfare state, Jagan said.

Chandababu Naidu may be giving you Rs 3,000 before elections but it is only to hoodwink the major benefits coming your way as he had gone back on all the 600 poll promises he made during 2014 elections and just three months before elections started throwing crumbs at the people.’ When our government comes to power, we will clear all the 2.3 lakh jobs and regularly give Service Commission notification for jobs. Ensuring MSP to farmers and we will make agriculture as a lucrative vocation by lending all support.

All government schools will be uplifted in two years and we will make them the most sought after educational institutions. Weaker Sections, SCs, STs and Minorities will get their due share in development process and the women of these categories who are in the age group of 45-60 will be given Rs 75,000 annually under YSR Cheyutha, he said. He has toured Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and East Godavari districts on the opening day of his campaign after releasing the list of election candidates.
