Jagan to meet candidates on May 21

YSR Congress chief Jaganmohan Reddy is scheduled to meet his party candidates on May 21, two days ahead of counting. The meeting is scheduled to be held at the party new office at Tadepalli in the new capital. This would be the first interaction of Jaganmohan Reddy with the party leaders after the elections. Ever since polling was held on April 11, Jaganmohan Reddy had been keeping himself away from the party affairs, mostly restricting his time to the family. It is only Vijayasai Reddy and other leaders who are active from the party as he is enjoying the time after his long marathon padayatra.

While Telugu Desam Party supremo Chandrababu Naidu is active in politics, be it holding meeting with the party candidates and leaders or his campaign in other states for national leaders. He is keeping himself busy and politically active ahead of the elections. Naidu is also planning for a national meet of the opposition parties in Delhi on May 21, the day when Jaganmohan Reddy meets his party leaders.

Meanwhile, the sources in the YSR Congress say that the party leadership is confident of wresting power from the TDP this time. The party’s victory is almost certain and Jaganmohan Reddy is preparing himself to the chief minister, where he has to implement his poll promises. The YSR Congress chief had made several new promises, besides his Navarathnas and the party is now working on matching these programmes with the state exchequer.

On May 21, Jaganmohan Reddy is likely to take the opinions of the party candidates on the election outcome. He is also likely to give some tips to the candidates for the May 23 counting. He is said to have received a note from the party top leaders and his political advisor Prashanth Kishore, on handling the party counting agents on May 23. The YSR Congress has some information on the possibilities of the ruling TDP reaching out to the YSR Congress counting agents and alter the results. This is also said to be the election management of the TDP, where they can influence the agents of the opposition parties and get the counting in their favour. It is here Prashanth Kishore is said to have given a detailed note on how Chandrababu Naidu can manage the agents of other parties to favour the TDP. Jaganmohan Reddy is said to be serious on this and is likely to caution the party candidates to keep their folks together.
