Is Jagan working with vengeance?

Jaganmohan Reddy

Is chief minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy working with vengeance? The answer appears to be yes as he is targeting his predecessor and Telugu Desam Party supremo Chandrababu Naidu more than anything.

Jaganmohan Reddy had walked out of the Assembly in 2017 disgusted with the threats, humiliation, heckling by the then ruling TDP leadership in the Assembly. He was hardly given the mike to speak in the House. Every TDP MLA and Minister attacked him and heckled him. He was abused. He was insulted. He was denied the right to speak as the Leader of Opposition with a strength of 67 MLAs on his side (though 23 of them have shifted their loyalties to Chandrababu Naidu later).

The then chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, the then Ministers K Atchannaidu and Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, the then MLAs Bonda Umamaheswara Rao and Vangalapudi Anitha, were always up in arms against Jaganmohan Reddy. Chandrababu Naidu used threatening language while the others used abusive language at Jaganmohan Reddy. The speaker, Kodela Sivaprasada Rao, was undemocratic in denying the right to Jagan to speak. That was the situation where Jaganmohan Reddy walked out of the Assembly. The walk continued for 4,348 km and later the journey completed with Jaganmohan Reddy walking back into the Assembly with a historic and landslide victory of 151 MLAs out of 175.

The return of Jaganmohan Reddy to the Assembly with unquestionable strength of MLAs, seems to have made him to pay back the humiliation that was meted out to him by the TDP. He was, as leader of opposition, denied a house by Chandrababu Naidu government. Now, he is trying to destabilise the house for Chandrababu Naidu. He is paying back to the TDP leadership with the same coin.

Though he says that there is no political with-hunt or vendetta, some actions of Jaganmohan Reddy are aimed at giving back to the TDP, which was given to him by the TDP. The warnings that Chandrababu Naidu, as chief minister those days, seems to be still a fresh in his mind. That is what is happening. It is just paying back what was paid to him. It is all politics and those in power have good days to take revenge. That is what is happening in Andhra Pradesh now. No regrets and no celebrations.
