The Jana Sena Party is scheduled to host a two-day brain storming session at Dindi in East Godavari district from September 5. The party’s political affairs committee is also scheduled hold its meeting on these days. Party chief Pawan Kalyan had one round of meeting with the party senior leaders, contested candidates and others in the last two months where they tried to find out the reason for the party’s debacle in the election.
The Jana Sena had contested for 140 Assembly seats of which it could win just one seat in East Godavari. Pawan Kalyan had lost the two Assembly seats where he contested. His brother K Nagababu also lost the Narasapuram Lok Sabha seat. Party’s top leaders like CBI former joint director V V Lakshminarayana, AP Assembly former speaker Nadendla Manohar, former IAS officer Thota Chandrasekhar and others lost the election and several of them could not even get their deposits.
Pawan Kalyan had huge mass following as an actor and there was a mass youth following as a politician. Wherever he went for the election campaign, the Jana Sena chief drew huge crowds. Though he denied his caste affiliation, there were some leaders from the Kapu community, who rallied for Pawan Kalyan and the Jana Sena Party. However, he could not make it to the Assembly. He and his party leaders are yet to find the reason for the defeat. They are clueless on Pawan Kalyan’s defeat in the two Assembly seats.
Perhaps, the party is holding the two-day meet to find out the reason with an honest introspection. The party, besides analysing the defeat, is also expected to discuss its role in the State politics. The party leaders are planning to discuss about the impending issues like agriculture crisis, Amaravati works, Polavaram Project, sand mining issue and others. The party’s action plans are likely to be decided at this meeting. It is to be seen how the Jana Sena would plan its future during the two days
