Kesineni Nani creates tremors in TDP

Vijayawada MP Kesineni Srinivas created tremors in the Telugu Desam Party on Wednesday. While the party leadership is yet to recover from the shock of the humiliating defeat, Kesineni’s resentment over the party’s decisions on the Parliamentary Party posts shook the leadership. The MP had posted in his facebook wall rejecting the party whip post in Parliament offered to him by party chief Chandrababu Naidu.

His post saying that he was not prepared to accept any post as the post of MP itself is very big for him and was turning down the offer of the party whip, went viral in the social media. Hours after this post, Guntur MP and Telugu Desam Parliamentary Party leader, Galla Jayadev, rushed to Kesineni’s office in Vijayawada and held talks with the leader. It was only then, Jayadev came to know that Kesineni’s dissent was against his appointment as Parliamentary Party leader. He told media persons that he wanted to be the floor leader of the party and not the leader of the Parliamentary Party. He said he had to accept that post as incumbent Y S Chowdary was not prepared to continue in the post in the light of new developments. He said he was ready to accept any changes in the party posts to keep the spirit of unity in the party.

However, Kesineni refused to accept the post or declined to come to terms with the leadership. As he is not cool and not coming to terms, party chief Chandrababu Naidu called both of them to his residence in the evening and held talks with them, both individually and together. It is here Kesineni had come up with his arguments that injustice is done to him in the last five years with the leadership giving priority to others and even encouraging some leaders to defeat him. He told Naidu that he would not accept any posts but would remain loyal to the party.

Not happy with the developments, Chandrababu Naidu had remained silent and is said to have left the issue to be resolved in due course. But, Kesineni declined the talk that he is set to quit the party and join the Bharatiya Janata Party. He told media persons that he would continue to be a loyal TDP man. It is to be seen what is store for the TDP with leaders openly defying the party chief
