Bharatiya Janata Party leader from Telangana, G Kishan Reddy, took oath as Minister of State for home affairs in the Central government, along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other cabinet colleagues. A defeat also can bring success in another form. It was proved in Kishan Reddy’s case. He lost the Assembly elections in Telangana State in 2018. The defeat was so bad that he was taken aback in the BJP politics. Started his political career as the youth wing leader of the party, Kishan Reddy rose to head the party’s State unit. He has several followers among youth for his hard-hitting speeches.
The defeat in the Assembly elections had given him a chance to stake claim for the Secunderabad Parliament ticket from the high command. He won the closely fought electoral battle in the State. This victory in the Lok Sabha elections had given him a chance to get into the Central cabinet. Though he was made Minister of State, it is a good beginning for this young and promising leader, who has always been with the people.
Kishan Reddy got this opportunity representing the Telugu States. Interestingly, he said he would work for the development of the two Telugu States, though he hails from Telangana. Interestingly, there are some followers for Kishan Reddy in Andhra Pradesh BJP too. He is invited by AP young leaders on several occasions and it shows how much he is admired by his party leaders.
There is another example in this line. Congress leader A Revanth Reddy, too lost the Assembly elections in Telangana. However, he had tasted success or victory in the Parliament elections and he won the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha seat. The failure that had given him in the State politics had come as a great opportunity for him and Kishan Reddy to play their role in the national politics
