Mystery in Kodela’s death

Kodela Sivaprasada Rao was known as Palnati Puli – the tiger of Palnadu area in Guntur district. Sivaprasada Rao, who was known as a good physician, started his political career with late N T Rama Rao, who launched the Telugu Desam Party in 1982. Since then, he stood like a rock for the party in Narasaraopet and parts of Guntur. He is popularly known in Narasaraopet, Sathenapalli, Gurazala, Macharla and other constituencies in his long political career.

However, his suicidal death raised several questions. The first is his reported telephone call to someone minutes before he committed suicide in his Hyderabad house. Who was there on the other side of his mobile call is a big question. The next question is on his missing mobile. The mobile was expected to be in his room where he committed suicide. But, the mobile is missing now and the police are on the lookout.

There were just a handful of people in the house when Sivaprasada Rao committed suicide. Kodala’s wife Sasikala, daughter Vijayalakshmi, gunman and a servant maid were present in the house when the former speaker took the extreme step. It was wife, daughter and the gunman who broke open the bedroom and entered it first. Then they took Sivaprasada Rao to the cancer hospital and not a general hospital.

Kodeal’s nephew had lodged a complaint with Narasaraopet police blaming Kodela’s son and alleged that the son had harassed the father, which might have been the reason for the death. This is a big question before the people and the police to look into seriously. While Chandrababu Naidu blames the government for the death, the YSR Congress holds Chandrababu Naidu responsible for the death. The death took ugly political turn with TDP and the YSR Congress making allegations and counter allegations.

It is in the interests of the political significance involved in the case, the Telangana police, who have registered the case, should look into all these aspects and reveal the truth.
