Naidu accuses govt of witch-hunt politics

Former chief minister and Telugu Desam Party supremo, Chandrababu Naidu, once again alleged that the YSR Congress government was resorting to witch-hunt politics in the State. He alleged that the government was killing the TDP leaders and activists across the State and held the government responsible for the suicidal death of former minister and former speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao.

Chandrababu Naidu addressed the death ceremony meeting of Kodela Sivaprasada Rao at Narasaraopet on Monday where, he took a dig at the State government. He said that the government was targeting the TDP workers and the leaders, implicating false cases against the TDP activists and leaders.

Chandrababu Naidu said that the TDP government had never resorted to such witch-hunt politics and kept the law and order under control. “The TDP was in power for more than 15 years and the opposition would not have survived had it resorted to the same witch-hunt politics,” the TDP chief said.

The TDP supremo alleged that the rowdy elements from Pulivendula were spreading across the State hunting the TDP workers. He recalled the dispute at Athmakuru village in Palnadu region of Guntur district, about which he held protest and called Challo Amthamuru, last month, was a clear indication of how the Pulivendula rowdies have spread across the State.

Chandrababu Naidu said that he would stand for the party workers and leaders and fight against the victimisation. While alleging that the police in the state are working at the whims and fancies of the YSR Congress leader, he said he would take up cases to the court and fight against the police too. “There is no law and order. There is no rule of law. It is the rule of rowdies,” Chandrababu Naidu said.

The TDP leaders paid rich tributes to Kodela Sivaprasada Rao and promised to stand by the Kodela family. They also promised to give a united fight against the government in facing the cases filed against Kodela son and daughter.
