Telugu Desam Party supremo and former chief minister Chandrababu Naidu blamed chief minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy for not visiting the flood-affected areas of the State. He blamed the chief minister for visiting Jerusalem and later Delhi at a time when the people were suffering in the flood water with the houses marooned. He said that the chief minister with inexperience was more concerned about political vengeance against him and the TDP leaders rather than focusing on the welfare of the people and development of the State.
Chandrababu Naidu resumed meeting people at the party office in Guntur after a small break for his US visit last week. He said he wanted to give at least six months for the new government to settle down to work, but people in the State were not ready for that long time. People, according to him, have already started resenting the failures of the government even from the second month of the new regime.
The TDP chief blamed the ruling YSR Congress for resorting to violence on the opposition parties. He said that the ruling party in Palnadu region of Guntur district, were indulging in violence and the party leadership would visit the areas shortly. Interestingly, the Bharatiya Janata Party too had made similar allegation against the ruling party in Palnadu region. The BJP is planning for a protest on August 16 in Palnadu, while the TDP wants to send its senior leaders to the region for enquiry.
Meanwhile, Chandrababu Naidu also reiterated his demand for payment of the fourth and fifth instalments of the debt waiver for the farmers, a promise that the TDP had made to the farmers in the 2014 elections and could implement partially in five years. He said that the scheme is binding on the government and asserted that Jaganmohan Reddy should implement it
