Naidu blames state, police on arrests

Chandrababu Naidu

Former chief minister and Telugu Desam Party supremo N Chandrababu Naidu blamed the State government and the police for arresting the party’s social media activists. The TDP chief gave a power point presentation in the party Guntur office, where he showed the social media clips of both the TDP and the ruling YSR Congress. However, he said that the police were arresting only the TDP social activists while turning a blind eye to the YSR Congress social media activists.

Chandrababu Naidu, in his power point presentation showed clips of the TDP social media activists and their posts which were considered objectionable. The police have arrested at least 20 of the TDP social media activists in the last three months, the TDP chief said. At the same time, he also showed the clips of the YSR Congress social media activists against the TDP leaders and alleged that the police have not acted on the ruling party activists.

“The State police is not entertaining the complaints from the TDP, but was acting swiftly on the complaints given by the ruling party. This is highly objectionable. The police should not act biased to the ruling party. Some police officers are dancing to the tunes of the ruling party leaders,” Chandrababu Naidu said expressing anger at the way things are moving against the TDP.

Chandrababu Naidu also alleged that the ruling party, with the support of the police, had increased its criminal politics against the TDP. The YSR Congress activists and leaders across the State were targeting and victimising the TDP leaders and activists.

The TDP chief had warned the government and the police to stop this victimisation failing which he would lead a protest across the State. He said he would take up a movement to save his party activists from the ruling party’s onslaught.

Chandrababu Naidu also presented some of his party leaders and activists who were targeted and abused by the ruling YSR Congress social media activists.
