As anticipated Opposition leader and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu had given zero marks to Y S Jaganmohan Reddy as chief minister, who is completing 100 days in office today. The former chief minister and the Telugu Desam Party supremo Chandrababu Naidu had addressed the party workers in Kakinada on Thursday where he said Jaganmohan Reddy had failed as chief minister with his inexperience in administration and political witch-hunt against the TDP leaders and the voters.
The YSR Congress government had failed to fulfil even a single promise but had been targeting the TDP, he said and announced the rehabilitation centre that was opened by the TDP for the victims of the YSR Congress. He said that the TDP would launch agitation against the government’s victimisation and made an appeal to the cadre to support the relief camp and oppose the government’s actions.
Chandrababu Naidu, who is good at using the media in his favour is also taking advantage of inaccessibility of the chief minister to the media. The media that had been supporting Chandrababu Naidu over the years, is creating anti-Jagan atmosphere in the State. The TDP is taking up extensive campaign against the government targeting the issues like non-availability of sand in the State, besides other issues. The issues like Amaravati, Polavaram and the review of power purchase agreements too have come handy for Chandrababu Naidu and his TDP leaders to target the government and nail it as failures. However, the capital Amaravati issue had subsided with the government releasing pending funds for the payment to the farmers towards annual lease for the lands given to the government for capital.
The government’s firm stand on the tenders for Polavaram and review of the power purchase agreements too is a hard nut to crack for the TDP and some of the contractors who are associated with the party over the years.
