Naidu sets his eyes on Telugu NRIs to back him

Telugu Desam Party president and chief minister Chandrababu Naidu is now looking at the Telugu NRIs to help him win the next elections. He is focusing more on them – calling them Non Resident Telugus (NRTs), who are being organised by the State government under NRT and G10 in the name of mobilising investments for the State.

While the NRT works to invite the investments to the State, the G10 works to promote entrepreneurship among the Telugu NRIs. Chandrababu Naidu had been holding meetings with these select non-resident Telugus in the past four years.

With the help of the government’s intervention the TDP chief is planning to organise and strengthen the NRIs for the party. He plans to float NRI Wing that would work for the party in the next elections. He wants the NRTs to come back and work in their respective native places creating a positive atmosphere towards the TDP and the government.

The NRTs are mostly located in the US, there are some located in countries like Canada, UK and Australia, besides Dubai and Singapore, who are being roped in to help the TDP. Chandrababu Naidu is exploring every opportunity to organise and strengthen the support for his leadership and the TDP at every level.

As the next election is a do or die for his leadership as he plans to install his son Lokesh in the top seat and stabilise the son’s leadership for the party and the State, he is looking at the NRTs to become active this time. He had already asked them to plan their stay in the State during the elections. The NRTs who have left their native places a few years ago, are now asking to find their roots and make use of that for the TDP in terms of mobilising votes.

Will it work for TDP and will the NRTs spare time for the TDP are the questions to be answered.
