Naidu struggling to convince cadre

Nara Chandrababu Naidu Rahul gandhi telangana news

Telugu Desam Party supremo and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is now struggling to convince his party cadre on the alliance with the Congress. There is dissidence brewing at every level in both the Congress and the TDP over the alliance. The acceptance levels are not as real in the ground level as they appear in the social media.

Those who are beating the drums for Chandrababu Naidu in the social media for forging alliance with the Congress to defeat BJP, are not connected to the cadre and voters at the grassroots. The social media activists of the TDP are different from the actual workers who matter when it comes to voting.

There is resentment in the Congress and a former minister Vatti Vasantha Kumar had quit the party in protest. There are several others lined up and waiting for the time to quit. There is also resentment in the TDP and a senior leader from Krishna district, Arja Panduranga Rao, had quit the party. There are others to leave the party in the days to come.

Sensing this, Chandrababu Naidu spent more than three hours trying to convince the leaders and cadre over teleconference the other day. He sought to explain them the dangers ahead for the State and the party if BJP is allowed to win the next election.

The denial of special category status, the denial of the projects promised for the State in the AP Reorganisation Act 2014 and many other issues are now blown out of proportion to convince the cadre on the historical necessity to align with the Congress. He had asked the party leaders to go to the villages and explain to the people and convince them too on the alliance with the Congress.

However, it is to be seen if the cadre and the voter get convinced with Chandrababu Naidu’s argument or take their own decision. It reflects only when they go to the polling booth.
