Naidu to lead party’s fighters to Palnadu

The Telugu Desam Party had opened a rehabilitation camp in Guntur to provide security for the party supporters who are being victimised by the ruling YSR Congress. The TDP had been running this rehabilitation camp in Guntur for the past four days accusing the YSR Congress of victimising the TDP supporters, sympathisers and the activists. The target is on Palnadu area from where some TDP supporters have come out of their villages due to repeated attacks by the YSR Congress leaders. Chandrababu Naidu is leading them back to their villages on September 11.

Rehabilitation centre is seen as a boiling point for the law and order and the TDP chief wants to lead a negative campaign against the ruling party by using these camps. Chandrababu Naidu is trying to get some political advantage on sympathy ground as he repeatedly says that he and his party activists are being targeted and victimised. Naidu held a teleconference with the party leaders from across the 13 districts on Sunday. He listed out number of incidents in which the ruling YSR Congress is victimising the TDP leaders, activists, supporters and sympathisers. He also listed the number of cases being foisted against the TDP leaders and supporters, including the social media activists, and asked the leaders to join him in his Challo Amtmakuru programme on September 11. He said he would lead the victims of the Atmakur village of Palnadu, who were victimised by the ruling TDP.

Chandrababu Naidu, out of power for a little more than 100 days. He had greater dreams of seeing his son succeed him this time. He wanted a safe succession of his son Lokesh, whom, he groomed as a Minister in his cabinet in the last three years. The defeat of the TDP in the 2019 general elections had shattered all his dreams, particularly on the succession of his son Lokesh. As he finds some opposition within the TDP for Lokesh, he wanted to remove it all and give a firm foundation for the son. Now, having lost those opportunities due to defeat in the elections, Chandrababu Naidu wants sympathy to help him give a firm career for his son. It is to be seen if it works for Naidu, given the way he leads his party as opposition.
