A day after inviting Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan to support him, Telugu Desam supremo and chief minister Chandrababu Naidu renewed his appeal in the presence of the people at Kuppam in Chittoor district. Addressing a public meeting as part of his Janma Bhoomi programme, Chandrababu Naidu wanted Pawan Kalyan to support him and the TDP in its fight against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The invitation which he extended initially in a media conference within the four walls had now gone out to the masses. It looks like the leak in the media conference gave him positive signs from both Pawan Kalyan and the TDP ranks, which prompted him to renew the invite in the public meeting.
Chandrababu Naidu justified his invitation to Pawan Kalyan on the ground that the Jana Sena chief too had blamed Narendra Modi for the injustice done to the State. A fact finding committee constituted by Pawan Kalyan had declared that the Central government has to give Rs 70,000 crore to the State towards bifurcation benefits. While Pawan Kalyan himself dropped this fact finding committee report, Chandrababu Naidu carries it with him while extending invitation to the Jana Sena chief.
The TDP supremo is seen worried about the party’s falling graph in the two Godavari districts with Jana Sena spreading its wings. The dominant Kapu community is now with Pawan Kalyan and that would pose a greater threat to the TDP in terms of seats. It is a fact that the TDP had come to power only because of the number of seats it won in 2014 in East and West Godavari districts. If the party fails to get the same number this time, it will certainly fail to retain the power.
It is this fear that keeps Chandrababu Naidu more worried and that compels him to look forward to Pawan Kalyan. With Naidu changing his stand on Pawan Kalyan and being soft, the TDP ranks remained silent. The TDP social media wing, which had been trolling Pawan Kalyan too remained silent for the past two days. They are now watching the developments and will spare the Jana Sena chief till the friendship between the Jana Sena and TDP is cemented.
