Parakala’s exit is no benefit to TDP

Andhra Pradesh Government media advisor Parakala Prabhakar’s exit is not going to help the ruling Telugu Desam Party to wash off the allegations of its alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party. It is not just one person’s relationship or membership that determines the overall relationship between two parties in politics. It is the overall approach of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu towards the BJP what matters more.

Chandrababu Naidu had been part of the BJP-led NDA right from the beginning and he had played key role in the first stint of the NDA in power in 1998. He still enjoys greater support within the BJP. He is comfortable with Rajnath Singh or Nitin Gadkhari and prefers either of them to Narendra Modi. If the NDA, by chance or by strategy, skips Narendra Modi, it is for sure that Chandrababu Naidu would return to the NDA fold backing the BJP in the next election.

Ahead of 16 more days left for him to complete his term, Parakala had sought to shift blame on Leader of Opposition Y S Jaganmohan Reddy for his resignation. He had even tried to give a clean certificate to Chandrababu Naidu in the fight against the Central governmet and the BJP leadership for the concerns of the State. But, what wonders is that in his run to please Chandrbaabu Naidu, Parakala had tried to paint Jaganmohan Reddy in black.

There was no reaction from the critics after he had sent his resignation. No one is happy with his resignation and there seems the controversy is not closed now. The way he tried to please Chandrababu Naidu in his resignation indicates how he is trying to continue his relationship with the TDP and Chandrababu Naidu. Moreover, his take on clean and honest politics had become a laughing point in the political circles. The letter was thus termed in the political circles as the joke and the funniest script.

Meanwhile, Chandrababu Naidu had not accepted the resignation and is said to have discussed about it in the Cabinet meeting that was held on Tuesday evening. Some of the TDP leaders have expressed solidarity with Parakala and found fault with Jagan and the YSR Congress leaders for making personal attack on him.
