After a gap of nearly four to five months, Jana Sena has again focused on North Andhra districts. Pawan Kalyan had extensively toured these three districts in June-July last year. Then some leaders had also joined the party. Subsequently, Pawan did not look towards the region. Moreover, Jana Sena did not get the kind of response which it received during Pawan’s visit and hence there were no inductions in the party. That’s why Jana Senani is once again focusing on these three districts to further strengthen the party in places where it is already strong.
According to party sources, after the festival Pawan Kalyan will hold a huge meeting with party leaders and cadres in North Andhra districts. During this meeting he will analyse the party’s position in all 34 Assembly and 5 Lok Sabha constituencies and will identify the places where the party needs to pay more attention. It is said that Pawan wants the party leaders to encourage defections to the party. Already some TDP and YSRCP leaders are in a dilemma on whether they will get the ticket or not. Pawan wants to target those leaders to prepare strong local leadership.
Pawan is also planning to attract intellectuals, academicians and eminent people from various walks of life this time. By getting their support, he wants to ready strong leadership. Meanwhile, there are speculations that some leaders from YSRCP and TDP are sending signals that they will join the party if they were guaranteed of tickets for the coming elections. Jana Sena is set to be getting the signals from some assembly seats in Visakhapatnam district and also from Vijayanagaram and Srikakulam districts. It is said that if Pawan gives them the clarity many leaders will jointhe party. It is important to note that Jana Sena’s previous avatar Praja Rajyam had good support in North Andhra. The party had then bagged four seats in Visakhapatnam district alone. That’s why Jana Sena is planning to hoist its flag here once again.
