Working in the Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS), the young officer, Ravela Kishore Babu, made his political debut in 2014 elections. He got the Telugu Desam Party ticket for Prathipadu SC reserved constituency in Guntur district and had won the election.
The TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu took Kishore Babu into the cabinet. The former IRTS officer was jubilant for the elevation. Not many get this opportunity on their political debut. He was seen vibrant and aggressive. He took the initiative to snub Opposition party and its leader Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, both in the Assembly and outside on several occasions, just to please his boss, Chandrababu Naidu.
At one point of time, he tried to drag the name of B R Ambedkar right on the floor of the Assembly in Hyderabad to snub Jaganmohan Reddy. He wanted to be loyal to the party and its chief more than anyone else. But, things were different and it were unfavourable to him one day, when Chandrababu Naidu dropped him from the Cabinet. He was disappointed and upset. It took some months for him to recover from the shock. Once recovered he tried to grab the Bahujan Samaj Party in the State and made several unsuccessful attempts.
Having failed there, over ambitious Kishore Babu joined Jana Sena. He contested from the Prathipadu Assembly constituency in 2019 elections and lost deposits. He then, quit the party and sources say he is planning to join the Bharatiya Janata Party shortly. The man in hurry, over ambitious, with no ideology, seems to have lost in the corridors of power.
There are many such Kishore Babus who miss or misuse the opportunities that knock at their doors once in a while. Kishore Babu stands as an example for many to know what to do and where to stand, to fulfil their political ambitions. If someone wants to be successful in politics, learn what not to do from Kishore Babu.
