Struggle will continue to achieve Special category status: Naidu

Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly adopted a resolution today condemning the negligence attitude of central government in fulfilling the state bifurcation assurances under implementation of AP reorganisation Act and special category status to AP. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu moved the resolution in the House.

Speaking on the occasion Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that the BJP government has failed to accord special category status to AP, though all political parties supporting the issue. He said that the central government failed to fulfil the state bifurcation assurances including Visakhapatnam railway zone, metro rail, central educational institutions and introduction of international flights. He said that the central government failed to convene a meeting to settle the issues between two Telugu speaking states.

He questioned whether the BJP considering Telugu people as slaves and neglecting AP. He warned that the Telugu people will continue their struggle to achieve special category status to state. He questioned why the BJP has been going back in fulfilling the state bifurcation assurances. He said that he visited Delhi 29 times and met Prime Minister and other ministers for implementation of state bifurcation assurances but in vain.

The Chief Minister said that the future generations also will not forgive the BJP, if it fails to accord special category status to AP and fulfil state bifurcation assurances. Citing the BJP legislators, the Chief Minister said being an Andhraite everyone should try to protect the interests of State.
