TDP leaders write open letter to Botsa

Four of the opposition Telugu Desam Party leaders have written an open letter to Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Botsa Satyanarayana blaming him for controversial statements on capital Amaravati. They alleged that the ruling YSR Congress was trying to get some good price for the lands owned by its leaders in Donakonda of Prakasam district, besides helping the Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to revive the real estate business in Hyderabad.

TDP leaders Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary, K Atchannaidu and Nimmala Ramanaidu from Assembly and Dokka Manikyavara Prasad from Legislative Council wrote an open letter to the Minister. They wanted to know if the present YSR Congress government was functioning in the graphic city or a real city. “Is there Assembly building or not? Are there five buildings for the Secretariat? Are there no roads? Why are the ruling party Minister spreading false news that Amaravati is just a graphic city,” the leaders asked the Minister.

The TDP leaders said that they have planned Amaravati on par with Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai or even better than these three cities to attract global investments. The infrastructure and other plans were proposed to create new hopes for the people here and also to the prospective investors from across the world, the TDP leaders said in their letter.

The TDP leaders also tried to disprove the allegations that the TDP government had spent Rs 30,000 crore in Amaravati and Rs 10,000 per square feet for construction. They said that the TDP government had spent just Rs 5,333 per sft for Assembly, Rs 3,666 for High Court, Rs 7,101 for offices of the HoDs (Heads of Departments) and Secretariat and Rs 3,459 for the residential quarters of IAS officers, ministers, MLAs and others. They said that the YSR Congress was spreading false news about this expenditure with a malicious intention.

The TDP leaders also alleged that the YSR Congress was spreading false news only to increase real estate business in Hyderabad, besides making some profits from their lands in Donakonda of Prakasam district. The TDP leaders asked the YSR Congress leaders, particularly Minister Botsa Satyanarayana to come with facts for debate on Amaravati issue.
