The Opposition Telugu Desam Party had decided to intensify its attack on the ruling YSR Congress during the budget session. The TD Legislature Party meeting, which held on Monday decided to make use of the opportunities given to them in both Assembly and Council and hit hard the ruling party for its lapses. The meeting also decided to expose the lapses in the budget which according to the party does not reflect the promises that the YSR Congress and its chief Jaganmohan Reddy have made during the elections.

TDP senior leaders Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary, besides Chandrababu Naidu, would take lead in criticising the government in the Assembly, while senior leader Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and Nara Lokesh would take on the government in the Legislative Council. Accordingly, Butchaiah Chowdary started debate on the budget in Assembly, while both Ramakrsihnudu and Lokesh started debate in the Council.

Chandrababu Naidu would intervene during the course of the discussions in Assembly, while other leaders like K Atchannaidu and N Ramanaidu in the Assembly were directed to be shouting team in the House to grab additional opportunities to speak. This would push the government to defence and the TDP would get the major attention in the media, was the plan that was agreed at the TDLP meeting.

Meanwhile, the ruling YSR Congress had also decided to give fitting replies to the Opposition in the Assembly. Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy had directed his Ministers and the senior leaders to counter the criticism from the Opposition besides exposing the corruption and failures of the TDP government during the last five years. Jaganmohan Reddy had instructed his Ministers and senior leaders to be alert in the Assembly and come prepared with documental evidences to expose the TDP’s rule. It was based on this, finance minister had come to the House with a copy of a letter reportedly written to Jaganmohan Reddy by Kia Motors vice-president who recalled that the Kia had come to the State only in the backdrop of the request of late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy. Whether the letter is to be believed or not, such documental presentation is expected from the ruling party to counter the TDP. The finance minister also came up with a statement on the foreign tours and expenses of Chandrababu Naidu, which had grabbed the attention of the media, the other day.
