TS cops reach Narasaraopet on Kodela death

The police from Telangana reached Narasaraopet on Sunday morning to investigate into the death of former speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao. Three senior police officials from the Banjara Hills police station have landed in the town and are likely to stay here for a couple of days to collect information.

A case was filed by Kodela Sivaprasada Rao’s daughter Vijayalakshmi at Banjara Hills police station alleging that her father committed suicide because of the harassment by the AP State government. Another case was filed at Sathenapalli police by Kodela’s relative Saibabu accusing Kodela’s son Sivaramakrishna as accsued. Saibabu alleged that Sivaramakrishna had been harassing Kodela on property issues, which, according to him, caused depression and finally to the suicidal death.

The Telangana police are likely to collect information about Saibabu case besides some cases filed against Sivaprasada Rao, Sivaramakrishna and Vijayalakshmi in Sathenapalli, Narasaraopet and Thullur police stations. The Telangana police are also likely to collect information on the Assembly furniture theft cases filed against both Sivaprasada Rao and Sivaramakrishna.

Some valuable furniture from the State Assembly was found in the houses of Sivaprasada Rao at Sathenapalli, Narasaraopet and Guntur, while some furniture was found in the automobile showroom belonged to Kodela’s son Sivaramakrsihna in Guntur. Cases were registered against the father and son in this regard by the Thulluru police. The Telangana police team is likely to gather this information to proceed further on the investigation.

Meanwhile, the Telugu Desam Party leadership is looking for replacement to Sivaprasada Rao in both Sathenapalli and Narasaraopet Assembly constituencies. The TDP leaders, including its chief Chandrababu Naidu, who made hue and cry about the death and accused the ruling party of victimisation, is now looking for some leaders to take over both the Assembly segments, which were coordinated earlier by Sivaprasada Rao. The TDP leadership is not willing to give priority to Kodela’s son Sivaprasada Rao or daughter Vijayalakshmi in the party affairs, though TDP gained so much from the death of Kodela.
