What did Naidu say with Pawan Kalyan?

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan were together in a room for more than 30 minutes on Friday. They met in the temple inauguration programme organised by businessman Lingamaneni Ramesh.

The businessman is closely connected with Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan. Lingamaneni had given his guest house on the banks of river Krishna at Undavalli to the Chief Minister. He had also given two acres of land to Pawan Kalyan at Kaza village where the Jana Sena chief is building house-cum-party office. It is this intimacy that Lingamaneni had brought both Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan together in the name of installation of new idols.

After the installation of the idols and before the first darshan of the lord, there was more than half-an-hour time left for the leaders to wait. The organisers have provided a waiting room for the Chief Minister where Chandrababu Naidu had invited Pawan Kalyan to join him. “Pawan Kalyan was not interested to sit with Chandrababu Naidu, but the latter insisted and thus they spent 30 minutes in the room,” a senior leader of Jana Sena admitted.

This 30 minutes meeting came handy for Chandrababu Naidu to browse the possibility of alliance between the TDP and Jana Sena for the 2019 elections. Chandrababu Naidu had reportedly requested Pawan Kalyan to think of alliance with the TDP as that would help him win a few seats extra and be part of the government. He had also reportedly requested the Jana Sena chief to go soft towards Nara Lokesh. “In fact, Chandrababu Naidu had requested Pawan Kalyan to avoid comments on Lokesh,” the Jana Sena leaders say.

Both Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan met a few hours after Tirupati former MP V Varaprasada Rao declaring that Pawan Kalyan is in touch with the YSR Congress leaders. He further claimed that both Jana Sena and YSR Congress would forge alliance for the next elections. This statement from Varaprasada Rao is believed to have figured in the talks between the two leaders.

“Pawan Kalyan did not reveal anything about the meeting with Chandrababu Naidu. But, there were indications as Pawan Kalyan smiled for some questions and remained silent for some,” a senior leader said.
