With Telugu Desam Party supremo Chandrababu Naidu planning for a big show in the national capital on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi government is creating hurdles for the TDP chief to take people to Delhi. It is said that the railways were not cooperating with the State government to provide special trains as required by the Chief Minister. Minister Atchannaidu alleged that the railway officials were not cooperating with them fearing TDP government’s invasion of the national capital.

Even in the national capital, the AP officials are said to be having some problems with the Central government in making arrangements for the chief minister’s protest at Andhra Pradesh Bhavan. However, bulldozing the Central government objections, the TDP government was making all arrangements for the event. The Chief Minister had already written letters to the leaders of various national and regional parties to support him in his protest and 23 parties including the Congress have given their consent to join the protest.

The TDP government had created similar problems to the Opposition YSR Congress in the State in the last four years when Jaganmohan Reddy led the agitation for the special category status. The Chandrababu Naidu government had used police force to deny permissions for the YSR Congress party’s protests. Several leaders and activists were arrested and jailed for the protest seeking special category status. The TDP government had denied permissions for the YSR Congress to hold protests and dharnas. Even the students were prevented from joining Jaganmohan Reddy’s protests for four years.

The Chandrababu Naidu government which joined the struggle for special category status in May 2018 did not withdraw cases filed against the activists. Only in the last Cabinet meeting the government took a decision to withdraw cases of Samaikyandhra movement besides the special category status movement.

However, now leading the movement for the special category status against the Central government, Chandrababu Naidu is crying foul of the Central government’s objections and hurdles.
