A viral video that was shot while this humiliation was taking place went viral on social media sparking outrage among the netizens. Following the incident, the victim complained to the police, demanding immediate action against the attackers.

The claim is Misleading. There is no caste angle to the incident.
When we searched the keyframes extracted from the viral video using Google reverse image search, we found that Jhansi police took to X and responded to all the users who shared the video tagging them. According to the message shared by them ‘Regarding the video received by the Police Station Sipri Bazar area, police has registered FIR and started taking action. On 23.10.24, the plaintiff Shri Baba, son of Shri Ramnarayan, gave a complaint at Sipri Bazar police station alleging that some people belonging to the same section of the society, without any reason, on 22.10.24, around 2.20 pm, thrashed, abused, and threatened him. Based on the complaint received, a case has been registered against four accused under relevant sections at the local police station. The police are making efforts for the early arrest of the accused. It is noteworthy that a video has come to light through social media, in which some persons are seen cutting the hair of the plaintiff. Taking cognizance of the video received, it will be included in the registered case and the investigation will be properly done.

The labourer was first hung upside down from a tree and beaten badly. After this, his hands were tied and a barber shaved his head. He was also paraded around the entire village in Sipri Bazaar. A labourer living in a village in the Sipri Bazaar police station area of Jhansi alleged that some bullies asked him to collect buffalo dung and work in their fields. When he refused to work, he was treated brutally.
