Fact Check: We checked the official website & social media handle of Meesho but we didn’t find any notification regarding this promotion.
We initially conducted a keyword search for “online questionnaire” in Meesho official website but no such official announcement notification was found over the site and also the official social media accounts of Meesho.
If you observe carefully, the URL links shared on social media do not start with meesho.com, which is the official website of Meesho. Instead, the viral link started with r.palacecrouch.top .
After conducting a Google reverse image search, we found a post featuring the same graphics on fashionnetwork.com. But the graphic content is totally different. It reads: “Up to 80% off”, there is mention of any questionnaire in it.
Regarding the questionnaire, our Fact Check team contacted the legal support team of Meesho. During the conversation with our Fact Check team, they informed that they would adopt best safety practices to safeguard the interests of users. “These scams are not associated with Meesho in any manner whatsoever. Please do not share any personal information such as bank account details, or make any payments to such individuals/ accounts. In case you've been defrauded, please report to local authorities for the same. Meanwhile, we thank you wholeheartedly for highlighting this issue, as this will save many others from similar fraud”.
Hence, we found the circulated link is fake. Meesho has not announced any kind of online questionnaire competition.
