India and China have had several clashes over the years, including border disputes, armed conflicts, etc. Tensions between the two countries along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) continued through 2021, and 2022 in eastern Ladakh.
This clash took the lives of 20 Indians and at least 4 Chinese soldiers. India lodged a strong protest with China over the new map that lays claim to the territory. Although these clashes are often followed by dialogue and other steps to reduce tensions, both sides have increasingly militarized their border policies and shown no indication of backing down.
Amidst all this, several users have posted on X claiming that a clash has occurred between the Indian army and PLA troops at Burtse area of eastern Ladakh. The incident is said to have happened at pillar point 12 in Ladakh and involved 14 soldiers from the Garhwal regiment and China. The users claimed that the situation is worsening and 12 Garhwal regiment was clashing with the Chinese troops.

A report published by the Jagran English website states that the Indian army disapproved of social media reports claiming a fresh skirmish between Indian soldiers and Chinese troops along the Line of Actual Control in Eastern Ladakh. The article also states that the unrest at LAC is not a new issue. In 2020, the armies of both countries faced each other in eastern Ladakh. There was even a clash between them in the Galwan Valley. This was the first fatal confrontation between the two sides since 1975. Both sides have been holding meetings to ease tensions at the border. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also had a conversation with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in August 2023, where both leaders agreed to intensify efforts at expeditious disengagement and de-escalation.
Therefore, the claim that there had been clashes between the Indian army and Chinese troops recently is False. There had been no such incident, and this was confirmed by the Indian army.
