The state-owned road transport corporation, Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC), will henceforth be called TGSRTC. After Andhra Pradesh was bifurcated, the corporation, APSRTC, was renamed TSRTC. After the formation of the Congress government, the name was again changed as TGSRTC. RTC signage, stationery, stamps, and letterheads are being updated accordingly.
After this change, several social media users are circulating a logo claiming that it is the new logo of TGSRTC. The logo in circulation resembles the old logo of APSRTC and the images of Charminar and Kakatiya Kalathoranam from the latest logo of TSRTC have also been removed. This enraged several citizens who raised objections about the new logo.
Fact Check:
The claim is False. The Managing Director of TGSRTC VC Sajjanar refuted the claims.
When we searched using the keywords ‘TGSRTC New logo’, we found a few news articles which published the clarification by the Managing Director.
VC sajjanar posted on X (Twitter): #TGSRTC There is no truth in the social media hype about the new logo. The company has not officially released the new logo yet. The logo that is being promoted on social media as the new logo of TGSRTC is fake. The company has nothing to do with that logo. The company is designing a new logo. The management of TGSRTC has not yet finalized the new logo.
According to Siasat.com, TGSRTC Managing Director VC Sajjanar clarified that the current logo, which is similar to APSRTC’s, remains unchanged. He emphasized that “the organization has not finalized any new logo and that the logo being circulated on social media is fake.”
Additionally, the corporation plans to undertake a comprehensive effort to update the abbreviation and logo across various platforms, including the website, letterheads, rubber stamps, office signage, bus depots, bus passes, identity cards, tickets, and buses.
An article published on the Hans India states that following the complaint by TGSRTC officials regarding the creation of a fake logo, Chikkadpally police station registered a case against K. Dileep and Hairsh Reddy under IPC 469, 504, 505 (1) (b) (c) and Section 67 of the IT Act.
Hence, the image in circulation is not the logo released by TGSRTC. It is a morphed image created to mislead people. The claim is False.
