Fact Check: Viral image showing Chandrababu Naidu with folded hands before Modi is morphed

The image is morphed, the original image is from June 2023 when Modi travelled in Delhi Metro and does not show Chandrababu Naidu
Ahead of the forthcoming Assembly and Parliament elections in Andhra Pradesh, Telugu Desam Party chief Chandrababu Naidu went to Delhi and met BJP party leaders Amit Shah and J P Nadda on February 7, 2024. According to reports, the meeting lasted for nearly an hour. Discussions about joining the NDA alliance along with the Jana Sena party were held. The details about the nature of the coalition are not yet clear.
As Chandrababu Naidu’s visit to Delhi made news, an image started circulating on social media. The viral image shows Chandrababu Naidu standing in a metro with folded hands while the Indian Prime minister can be seen sitting along with young travellers and talking to them.
This image is in circulation with the claim that this is the scenario in the Dehli Metro and that the Prime minister is insulting the TDP leader with his comments.
Fact Check:
The claim is False. The original image of Indian PM Modi travelling in the Delhi Metro has been morphed to spread a false narrative.
When we searched the image using Google reverse image search, we found that the original image was in the news in June 2023 and did not have Chandrababu Naidu in it.
The original image was shared by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 30, 2023, with the caption “On the way to the DU programme by the Delhi Metro. Happy to have youngsters as my co-passengers.”
According to the Economic Times, Prime Minister Modi engaged in a lively conversation with students while travelling to a centenary function of Delhi University in a Metro train. He spoke to them about the role of youth in nation-building and other topics. Prime Minister Modi travelled on the Metro to attend the valedictory ceremony of Delhi University's centenary celebrations. He boarded the train at Lok Kalyan Marg metro station and deboarded at Vishwavidyalaya Metro station on the Yellow Line.
The YouTube channel of ANI News also published a video of the candid conversation of the students with the Indian Prime minister in the Delhi Metro on June 30, 2023. We can see the visuals similar to the viral image at 3.06 minutes of the video.
Hence, the viral image is not real. The image of Chandrababu Naidu standing with folded hands had been added to the image of Indian PM Modi travelling in the Delhi Metro and shared with a false narrative. The claim is False.
