A video showing young children sniffing drugs is shared by an X (Twitter) user with the caption in Telugu with an implication that the video shows children from Andhra Pradesh.
The caption goes “అరేయ్ చిన్న పిల్లలురా వాళ్ళు నాశనం అయిపోతున్నారు.. చూస్తుంటే బాధగా ఉంది”. When translated, it claims “Young children are getting destroyed, it’s sad to see”
Fact Check:
The claim is Misleading. The video is not from Andhra Pradesh, it is from the streets of Patna, Bihar.
When we searched the keyframes extracted from the video using reverse image search, we found that a few social media accounts shared the same video with title “Patna Junction Nasha karte chote bachcche” which when translated states “Young children sniffing drugs at Patna junction”
The video was also shared by biharilarka Instagram handle.
According to the article published by hindi.news18.com, many such cases have come to light in which people of Bihar are caught buying and selling liquor in black. Now, a video has surfaced in which children were seen intoxicated with Dendrite outside Patna Junction.
The person who made the video showed that it was being recorded outside Patna Junction. In this, four children were seen standing in the parking lot outside the station. Everyone was seen holding plastic in their hands. These children were seen filling air inside this plastic and blowing it. When they saw the camera, some children hid their faces. But one of them, seeing the camera, made obscene gestures and took off his pants.
Fact check.AP.Gov.in also debunked the video and stated that a video of some children from Patna, Bihar is wrongly being circulated as a video from Andhra Pradesh. The original video from Patna Junction is added in the below video. Be aware of fake news peddlers. Check the video's authenticity before sharing in your circles.
Therefore, the video showing young children sniffing drugs is not from Andhra Pradesh, it is from Patna Junction, Bihar. The claim is Misleading.
