The claim is Misleading. The woman seen in the video is a mentally-challenged young woman caught wandering and being aggressive on the streets of Kadiri in Mangaluru.
When we searched the key frames that were extracted from the video, we found a few articles about the video.
An article published in Daijiworld.com states that the video of a young girl behaving in a rash manner with the police personnel in a police station in Mangaluru is viral with a caption that she is a drug addict.
Clarifying on the matter, city police commissioner Anupam Agarwal said: “Officials of the excise department received a message that a young girl is behaving rashly in a medical shop at Pumpwell on September 1. As the officials tried to take her for a narcotic test on the suspicion that she must have consumed drugs, she behaved in a violent manner with the personnel.
Later, when the girl was taken to hospital with the help of women police personnel for a narcotic test, the result was negative. She was handed over to her parents and is getting medical treatment in a hospital at present.
An article published in headlinekarnataka.com on September 9, 2023, states that on September 1, 2023, a young woman came to a medical unit in Pumpwell and was behaving aggressively. She also attacked the officials from the excise department. She was taken to the police station thinking that she was an addict. But after the test results were found negative, police clarified that she was a mentally -challenged person and handed her over to her parents.
A Facebook post by Mangaluru city police also clarifies that the young woman was not on drugs and that she was receiving treatment for her aggressive behaviour. The investigation is still going on about the aggressive behaviour towards the excise department officials.
Therefore, the video shows a mentally-challenged young girl behaving aggressively towards the police officials and she tested negative for drug consumption. This incident took place in Kadiri, Mangaluru, and not in Koramangala, Bengaluru. The claim is Misleading.
