A video of lions roaming on a street is in circulation on social media with the claim that they were spotted in Thudukurthi village in Nagarkurnool district of Telangana.
Several social media users shared the video with caption in Telugu that goes “తెలంగాణ నాగర్కర్నూల్ జిల్లాలో. తూడుకుర్తి గ్రామంలో రాత్రి రోడ్లపై సంచరించిన సింహాలు. భయాందోళనలు స్థానికులు..” When translated, it reads: ‘In Nagarkurnool district, Telangana. lions were seen roaming on the streets of Thudukurthi village, creating fear among the locals.’
Fact Check:
The claim is False. The video is an old one.
When we searched the keyframes extracted from the video, we found that the same video was in circulation for the last few years.

Another YouTube user also shared the video in August 2023.
The video was also shared by a Facebook user on January 17, 2021 with the caption Godi Greater Noida.
Therefore, the viral video is not a recent one from Thudukurthi village in Nagarkurnool district of Telangana. Though we were not able to locate the exact location of the video, we know that the video is an old one and not recent. It has been online since 2021. The claim is False.
