The massive earthquake that occurred in Turkey and Syria killed more than 50,000 people. Officials in Turkey stated that 113 arrest warrants have been issued in connection with the poor construction works that resulted in collapse of buildings.
Amidst this, a very disturbing video of the mass shooting of civilians is being shared on social media platforms with the narrative that it shows the killing of building contractors in Turkey. The post also claims that they are being killed because they used tyres under the buildings instead of seismic dampers.
The claim goes as “In Turkey, the execution of builders, Who used tires under the buildings, instead of seismic dampers”
Some users also claimed that this occurred on March 15, 2023.
Telugpost is adding screenshots of the video in this article as they appear to be graphics and distressing.

Fact check:
The claim that the video shows the killing of builders in Turkey is false.
When the key frames extracted from the video were searched using Google reverse image search, we found that the video is from Syria.
According to an article published in The Guardian in April 2022, the video is from April 2013 and the mass killing happened in the Damascus suburb of Tadamom, the battlefront at the time of conflict between the Syrian leader and insurrectionists.
Several videos surfaced in 2019 when Syrian militia started looking at old tapes belonging to Bashar al-Assad. Screenshots from the video and the viral video also can be seen in this article.
According to New Lines magazine, Syrian military personnel massacred 288 civilians in 2013, including seven women and 12 children. In the videos, which were leaked to authors in 2019 and amount to 27 takes of the massacre in its different stages, military personnel show their faces to the camera and appear at ease and in full control before they execute their civilian captives in cold blood.
One of the killers is identified as Amjab Youssef and the other as Najib al-Halabi.
The US department of state also published a note on April 29, 2022, stating that they are condemning the atrocities of the Assad regime that took place in 2013.
Hence, a video showing Syrian military atrocities that took place in 2013 is being passed off as a video taken in Turkey post the recent earthquake. The claim is false.
