Raghava Lawrence, who became hit as a choreographer, turned a director and made movies with star heroes. However, he did not get the fame but he achieved the same by directing ‘Kanchana’ sequel of horror movies. He scored a blockbuster hit with ‘Kanchana’ and super hit with ‘Ganga’. Though ‘Kanchana 3’ was flop, with Rs.100 crore collection Raghava proved his mettle. He was making Hindi remake of ‘Kanchana’ with the title ‘Lakshmi Bomb’ and starring Akshay Kumar. Raghava Lawrence, who already completed first schedule, has opted out of the project. It is said that Raghava stepped out of the project as the producers who were remaking ‘Kanchana’ in Bollywood insulted him.
The producers had not given credit to Raghava as the director in the first look of ‘Lakshmi Bomb’. The name of only Akshay Kumar was given in the first look. Raghava felt producers deliberately insulted him and hence announced that he is stepping out of the direction of this movie. The producers insulted Raghava at a time when ‘Lakshmi Bomb’ shooting was on. Though he has opted out of film’s direction, he is said to have given remake rights, screen play and story to Akshay Kumar. The role of Akshay in this episode is not known. However, Raghava is said to have told his friends that Akshay Kumar also did not question the producers.
