If there are any great hits this year, they are ‘Rangasthalam’, ‘Mahanati’ and ‘Geetha Govindam’. With ‘Rangasthalam’ Ram Charan and Sukumar created non-‘Baahubali’ records. In terms of several records,‘Rangasthalam’ attained the position next to ‘Baahubali’. Ram Charan won the hearts in the role of Chitti Babu. Though ‘Rangasthalam’ was shown on Amazon Prime in 60 days, Star Maa channel bagged the satellite rights for a huge price. The day when ‘Rangasthalam’ was telecast, the TRP ratings were next only to ‘Baahubali’. ‘Rangasthalam’ which was shown in Star Maa attained the highest position after ‘Baahubali’ with 19.5 rating.
If we keep ‘Mahanati’ aside,‘Geetha Govindam’ was among the films made with small budget but entered Rs.100 crore club to become a block buster hit. Vijay Devarkonda-Parshuram made this film with a very small budget. Audiences liked the comedy content and innocence of Vijay Devarkonda. In theatres ‘Geetha Govindam’ recorded collections at par with the movies of star heroes. Recently this film was telecasted on Zee Telugu channel. It is learnt to have got 20.7 TRP rating. ‘Geetha Govindam’ surpassed ‘Rangasthalam’ in rating and this shows how much the audience liked this movie.
‘Geetha Govindam’ thus overtook Chitti Babu’s ‘Rangasthalam’ which was next only to ‘Baahubali’. Now among the films liked by television viewers, after ‘Baahubali’ it is ‘Geetha Govindam’ and then ‘Rangasthalam’. Chitti Babu has thus overtaken by Govindam. In fact this is a super news. Is it not extraordinary achievement that on television ‘Geetha Govindam’ beat the movies made with huge budget and carrying huge craze
