Things have not gone as planned in the case of Vijay Devarkonda’s ‘Dear Comrade’. Directed by Bharat Kamma, the movie was carefully re-shot by Vijay Devarkonda but it did not work out. Vijay took all precautions that the mistakes made in the case of his other flop film ‘Nota’ are not repeated in ‘Dear Comrade’ but the same mistakes happened here. Before release of the movie, Vijay Devarkonda made hectic efforts to promote it but after the release and the average response it evoked, he set aside the promotion. That’s why in the very first week ‘Dear Comrade’ made an exit without even achieving the break-even.
However, Puri-Ram movie ‘iSmart Shankar’ also got average talk but even after the release of ‘iSmart Shankar’ the film unit went all out to promote it. Without bothering about ‘Dear Comrade’ the team aggressively promoted ‘iSmart Shankar’ and as a result the movie became a hit and recorded huge collections. Had Vijay Devarkonda promoted ‘Dear Comrade’ in colleges and theatres in a big way, the producers could have saved themselves from losses if not making any profits. However, Vijay kept quiet after watching the initial response to ‘Dear Comrade’. Now in case of Kranti Madhav movie, Vijay is said to have decided to take more precautions. After his another big budget movie ‘Hero’ ran into problems, Vijay is said to be moving very cautiously. On the other hand there are reports doing round in social media that Vijay Devarkonda has committed to do a movie with director Puri. Whether this is correct or not will be known if Vijay or Puni make a clarification.
