Big budget movies slated for release this year are Prabhas ‘Saaho’ and Chiru ‘Sye Raa’. While ‘Saaho’ has been made with a budget of Rs.250 to 300 crore, ‘Sye Raa’ has been completed at a cost of Rs.200 crore. ‘Saaho’ was to be released on August 15 while ‘Sye Raa’ is to hit the screens on October 2. Other movies were not daring to compete with them. Tension had gripped the makers of the movies which were scheduled to be released before and after ‘Saaho’. August is a key month for some medium and small films. Since there will be many holidays like Independence Day, varalakshmi vratam and Rakhi Pournima, many producers want to release their movies during the month. However, with ‘Saaho’ locking August 15 for its release, many films which were planning to release in August had postponed. Now with the latest development of ‘Saaho’ postponing its release, many heaved a sigh of relief.
One among them is senior hero Nagarjuna. His ‘Manmadhudu 2’ had locked August 9 as the release date. However, if the film is released on August 9 and a week later ‘Saaho’ hits the screens, his film would have to exit theatres without running for the second week. With ‘Saaho’ not releasing on August 15, Nagarjuna’s tension has eased. ‘Manmadhudu 2’ has huge expectations. Directed by Rahul, the film stars Nagarjuna and Rakul in the lead. As the film has top heroines like Samantha and Keerthy Suresh in guest roles and this being the sequel of hit movie ‘Manmadhudu’ it carries lot of expectations. No matter how huge are the expectations and how strong is the hit talk, when ‘Saaho’ hits the screens, ‘Manmadhudu 2’ will have to exit. The moment ‘Saaho’ release was postponed, Sharwanand got ready to release ‘Ranarangam’ on August 15. Advi Sesh also announced release of ‘Evaru’ on the Independence Day.
