‘Maharshi’ movie in the combination of Mahesh Babu and Vamshi Paidipally was released two weeks ago. The audience responded with mixed talk and ‘not bad’ collections. Mahesh did the promotion with the claim that there is no greater hit than this in his career. Except in Nizam,
‘Maharshi’ has not reached break-even in any other region. However, the film’s fortunes are fluctuating every week. When ‘Maharshi’ was released the same week, Allu Sirish’s ‘ABCD’ hit the screens but since this film proved an utter flop, ‘Maharishi’ entered the second week. Thus ‘Maharshi’ became safe for two weeks. This week ‘Sita’ in the direction of Teja and combination of Bellamkonda Srinivas and Kajal was released amid high expectations.
It was thought that ‘Sita’ will put brakes on ‘Maharshi’ and deal a blow to its collections. However, ‘Sita’ which was released on Friday received flop talk. ‘Sita’ did not get positive response either from the audience or from review writers. Though Kajal Agarwal’s acting and glamour is good, story and screenplay is weak, there are loopholes in Teja’s direction and Bellamkonda Srinivas is also minus for the film. Music by Anup Rubens is good and cinematography is okay but with bad talk spreading about ‘Sita’, it looks ‘Maharshi’ will continue to get the support of film lovers in the third week. If ‘Maharshi’ collections remain steady even this week, the film’s buyers will somewhat become safe. Otherwise, ‘Maharshi’ buyers would have suffered losses. Let us see if ‘Sita’ talk helps ‘Maharshi’ or not.
