The Jana Sena has finally settled down for a somewhat bigger alliance in the State with the smaller parties. After his meeting with Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati in Lucknow late last week, Pawan Kalyan had agreed to give 21 Assembly and 3 Parliament seats for the BSP in Andhra Pradesh. BSP was given Tirupathi, Chittoor and Bapatla Lok Sabha constituencies, while CPI was given Ananathapur and Kadapa Lok Sabha seats followed by CPM at Kurnool and Nellore. The CPM was given Kurupam (Vizianagaram), Araku (Visakhapatnam), Rampachodavaram (East Godavari), Undi (West Godavari), Vijayawada Central, Santhanuthalapadu (Prakasam) and Kurnool. The CPI finally settled for Palakonda (Srikakulam), S Kota (Vizianagaram), Visakhapatnam West, Nuzvid (Krishna), Mangalagiri (Guntur), Kanigiri (Prakasam) and Done (Kurnool) Assembly seats. However, the BSP and Jana Sena are yet to finalise the 21 Assembly seats where the BSP would contest. Pawan Kalyan and BSP supremo Mayawati would address election meetings in Amalapuram, Tirupathi and Hyderabad on April 3 and 4.
Meanwhile, CBI former joint director V V Lakshminarayana had joined the Jana Sena. Lakshminarayana rose to fame following the cases filed against Jaganmohan Reddy where he led the investigation. He was promoted by the media as champion against corruption and his designation of Joint Director in the CBI and thus became his initial. He is more popular as JD Lakshminarayana in the two Telugu States.
The Jana Sena chief said he wanted Lakshminarayana to contest from Rayalaseema region as he was planning to contest coastal districts. However, the seats from where both Lakshminarayana and Pawan Kalyan would contest are yet to be finalised. A decision is likely to come in a day or two, after due consultations with the allies, BSP, CPI and CPM. The Jana Sena chief wants this team as third alternative to the people after ruling Telugu Desam Party and the Opposition YSR Congress Party.
Meanwhile, it is highly speculated that Lok Satta founder Dr N Jayaprakash Narayana is also planning to join hands with Pawan Kalyan. The rumour is that Jayaprakash Narayana would meet Pawan Kalyan anytime from now and join the party. If this happens, the combination of Pawan Kalyan, Lakshminarayana and Jayaprakash Narayana would make some difference in the State politics, particularly in terms of vote share.
