The ruling Telangana Rastra Samithi is gearing up for the early polls. According to the available indications, TRS chief and Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao is planning to have the elections in December along with the four other States. KCR is leaving no stone unturned retain power in the State and is getting his party ranks ready for the polls.
However, the Congress looks at the KCR’s early polls plans as his early defeat. The Congress here is working hard to return to power in the 2019 elections. The party had lost the polls in 2014 despite giving the new state. The leaders could not cash in on the creation of the new state and the credit had gone to the TRS. Not a sing leader could make an attempt to tell the people as convincingly as the TRS did to claim the credit for Telangana State.
Now, after four years, the Telangana Congress leaders have realised their mistake and are going strong and deeper into the people explaining them how the State had come into being. The leaders in the last four years have explained well to the people about the troubles that the Congress had taken to create the new state and the party’s sacrifice in the residuary Andhra Pradesh.
Party senior leader and former Union Minister S Jaipal Reddy, who is also coordinating the party’s work in the State ahead of the elections said that the Congress was prepared to face the elections anytime. “We are waiting to see the defeat of TRS and Chandrasekhar Rao. If KCR is going for early elections, it means his early defeat,” Jaipal Reddy said during a media interaction in Delhi.
The Congress in Telangana looks so confident that the TRS is losing the election. The Congress leaders are thinking that they are better strategists than KCR, the only thing that made him winner in 2014 was the internal squabbles in Congress Party.
It is to be seen where the Congress ends up and what the TRS is set to make.
