A day before the polling, Telangana Rastra Samithi leader and minister T Harish Rao expressed fear that there is huge conspiracy being hatched in Telangana to get back Andhras to rule the Telangana State. “We have fought for decades for self-rule in Telangana. But, today, four years after the separate State, there is a conspiracy hatched across to bring back Andhras to rule the State,” Harish Rao feared.
He said that Telugu Desam Party president and AP chief minister Chandrababu Naidu and former MP Lagadapati Rajagopal were trying to influence the Telangana voters in the name of fake surveys. Terming Lagadapati Rajagopal as an agent of Chandrababu Naidu, the TRS leader said that the Andhras and some of their agents in Telangana were conspiring against the State and were trying to get back the Andhra rule in the State.
Harish Rao, a family member of the TRS chief Chandrasekhar Rao, had emerged as a star campaigner this time, managing at least 25 to 30 Assembly seats on his own and had proved as successful trouble shooter. He had held whirlwind tour of the constituencies given to him and had resolved the dissidence changing the political equations in those segments. He is more confident than anyone in the TRS about the party’s victory in the election.
However, he feared that the Andhra leaders were still trying to mislead the voters by releasing fake surveys. He brushed aside Lagadapati Rajagopal’s survey and termed it as the scheme of Chandrababu Naidu to manage media and play mind game. He further recalled how Lagadapati Rajagopal worked against the Telangana bill in Parliament and said that Lagadapati was never for the Telangana and its people.
He also cited the TDP aligning with the Congress to defeat the Telangana forces, particularly the TRS and appealed to the people to be cautious about these conspiracies against Telangana.
