Telugu Desam Party supremo Chandrababu Naidu is getting ready for his next round of visit to the national capital on December 10. Though the meeting was initially planned for December 11, the TDP chief looks in a hurry and had advanced it by a day.

Chandrababu Naidu decided on this meeting after his meeting with West Bengal chief minister Mamatha Benerji. Though he wanted to have this meeting in November itself, Mamatha deferred the idea as the parties are tied up with the elections in five States – Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Mizoram, Chhattisgarh and Telangana.

Now that the elections in these states are over and only results are pending, Chandrababu Naidu wants to push forward his plans of keeping the non-BJP parties together. He had a brief telephonic conversation with senior leaders like Sharad Pawar, Farooq Abdulla, Mamatha Benerji and former prime minister Deve Gowda and invited them for the meeting. The TDP chief is going strong against the BJP, particularly the prime minister. He had already given a call to the nation to defeat Narendra Modi in the next election. He plans to cement this slogan by holding the meeting of the non-BJP parties at the national level. Though not a single national or regional party from the NDA had come out to join him, Chandrababu Naidu wants to keep the flames up to generate greater heat against Narendra Modi and the BJP.

According to the political circles, it is just Mamatha Benerji and Karnataka chief minister Kumaraswamy who have confidence in Chandrababu Naidu, while others have their own doubts and reservations on the political stability of the TDP supremo. Leaders like Sharad Pawar and Mayawati have reportedly expressed doubts over Naidu’s credibility in keeping with the alliance partners against the BJP. These leaders have also questioned Chandrababu Naidu’s long friendship with the BJP and the TDP’s fevicol relationship with the BJP leaders. However, undeterred by the doubts expressed, Chandrababu Naidu wants to prove himself this time at the national level by standing firm against Narendra Modi’s candidature for prime minister slot in the 2019 elections.
