Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu would distribute the relief to the Titli cyclone victims in Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts on Monday. The relief is zeroed to Rs 482.58 crore in the first phase and the lion’s share will go to Srikakulam district.
The Chief Minister had directed the Ministers and the party senior leaders to join the relief distribution at the mandal levels, while he does it at the state level at Palasa in Srikakulam. Chandrababu Naidu had also written a long letter addressed to the cyclone victims and that letter would be distributed to the people across the district.
While describing the devastation that shook the lives of the people, Chandrababu Naidu had gone at length explaining the relief and rehabilitation plans of the State government. The restoration of power lines, supply of essential commodities to the victims in those initial days, restoration of drinking water lines and transportation are claimed as the success of his government. He explains how he also stayed in the district during those crucial days to monitor the relief and restoration works besides instilling confidence among the people and inspiring the officials to execute the relief works.
Spending Rs 482 crore now on relief is also seen as an opportunity to reach out to the people, a few months ahead of the elections. The ruling TDP is trying to make best out of this today as it had pooled up the funds to meet the opportunity. The Ministers and the senior leaders of the party have already taken their positions in their respective places in both the districts.
The Chief Minister too had directed the officials to take positions in their respective places to being the relief distribution at the stroke of the bell that he would ring at Palasa. The TDP wants the event to fetch best benefit for the party brining the best electoral benefits to the party.
