Naidu to ‘expose Modi’s betrayal at Tirupati today

Telugu Desam supremo and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is all set for the ‘Nammaka Droham, Kutra Rajakiyalu Pai Dharma Poratam’ (righteous struggle against politics of betrayal and conspiracy) public meeting in Tirupati on Monday evening to corner Prime Minister Narendra Modi for reneging on the promises he made to the State of Andhra Pradesh and its people.

Naidu, after screening of Narendra Modi’s speech at the public meeting here on the same day in 2014, in the run-up to General Election, will explain to the people how Modi had gone back on the promises betraying the TDP and the people.

He will make a power-point presentation on the promises made to the State and the injustice done to the State. “The objective of the meeting is to unmask the ‘real face’ of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and remind him about the promises he made four years ago to the people of Andhra Pradesh at the feet of Lord Venkateswara. Expose the backstage deals between YSRC and BJP,” Industries Minister N Amarnath Reddy said.

He, along with another minister K Atchannaidu, Rajya Sabha member CM Ramesh, MLCs including Payyavula Keshav, district party president P Nani, and others made the arrangements for the meeting in the last three days. It is the first of a series of meetings planned by the TDP to target the BJP-led NDA government. Every month, one such meeting will be held in each district.

About one lakh people are expected to attend the meeting and most of them are intellectuals, youth and students from various colleges and universities. People from all Assembly segments of Tirupati, Chittoor, and Rajampet parliamentary constituencies are mobilised for the meeting.

Chandrababu Naidu had used the Assembly and Council in the last three months to hit at the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Video clips of Narendra Modi’s speech were played in the Assembly to expose how Modi as Prime Minister candidate had promised sops to the State and how he as Prime Minister had gone back betraying the people.

After the Assembly, the Chief Minister held a 12-hour long fast in Vijayawada on April 20 where, at the end of the fast, he hit at Modi again for betraying the State. He also targeted the Opposition YSR Congress accusing it of conspiring with the BJP against the TDP and the State as well. Now, at the Tirupati meeting, Chandrababu Naidu is set to target both the BJP and the YSR Congress accusing them of having a nexus in doing injustice to the State.
