YSR Congress to launch door to door campaign

While being busy with the Praja Sankalpa Padayatra, YSR Congress chief Jaganmohan Reddy had given a month-long action plan for the rank and file of the party. He had asked his party leaders to go to the people explaining the party’s manifesto and the failures of the ruling Telugu Desam Party.

Though Jaganmohan Reddy is in the midst of the people with the padayatra, the party other leaders are not as active as he is. Except the leaders where Jaganmohan Reddy is walking the others are taking it easy and are to some extent, in relaxing mode. There is not much political activity from them, except for a handful of leaders like Y V Subba Reddy and Vijayasai Reddy.

Keeping this in mind, Jaganmohan Reddy had given a month-long activity to keep them busy and also make sure that people are well informed of the party’s agenda. The party would start the house to house or door to door campaign from September 17. Jaganmohan Reddy had asked the leaders to explain the party’s Nava Rathnalu – the nine promises – to the people. They were also asked to expose the corruption and the failures of the TDP government in the last four years.

The party is preparing the literature in Telugu on Nava Rathnalu and the TDP’s failures. This literature, in the form of pamphlets and posters, would be distributed to the people in every house keeping the leaders busy.

The Praja Sankalpa Padayatra, which is now in Visakhapatnam, might take three to four months from now to complete. This would follow, as already announced, a bus yatra by Jaganmohan Reddy to the constituencies that were not covered in the padayatra. The bus yatra would be the final action programme for the party as the election schedule will be out by then – March-April 2019.

It is to be seen how far the leaders would work up to the expectations of the party chief as he leads the party to the polls
