‘Petta’ movie starring super star Rajinikanth and Trisha as the lead pair and directed by Karthik Subbaraju is ready to be released. The film is scheduled to be released on Sankaranti and currently its promotion is on aggressively. The result of Rajinikanth’s previous film is not having any impact on this movie. That’s why Rajinikanth is called super star. ‘Petta’ which is in race for Sankranti is giving other big films in Tamil industry a run for their money. Ajith’s ‘Vishwasam’ is also to be released on Sankranti but the promotion of this film has not yet started. However, ‘Petta’ is racing ahead in promotion.
Rajinikanth’s all films are released in Telugu. Rajini has good market in Telugu. Recently producer C. Kalyan purchased the rights of ‘Petta’. However, this Sankranti there will be stiff competition among Ram Charan’s ‘Vinaya Vidheya Rama’, Balayya’s NTR biopic and Dil Raju’s ‘F2’. With big films to be released and Telugu producers blocking many theatres, it was difficult for ‘Petta’ to get good number of theatres and hence its released was postponed. C. Kalyan, who got ‘Petta’ rights for a huge price, realised that it will be tough to compete with other films on Sankranti and hence he postponed its release. This film is being released in Tamil as per schedule. No decision has been taken yet as to when the movie will be released in Telugu.
